Press engagements

Press conferences

Delegations wishing to organize dedicated press conferences during the Global Refugee Forum can do so by reserving a press space at Palexpo.

Delegations wishing to organise dedicated press conferences during the Global Refugee Forum can do so by reserving the press room at Palexpo. The space can be booked by writing to the UN Information Service at [email protected], [email protected] and UNHCR at [email protected]. The UN Information Service (UNIS) will need the following information: subject of the press conference (one line only), names and titles of all participants, including the moderator. Delegations should provide their own moderator.

The UN Information Service in Geneva will take care of the technical support: notifying the accredited correspondents one week prior to the press conference, posting the announcement on UNOG website, booking the press room and printing nameplates.

Press conferences at Palexpo are likely to be held in English or French. Delegations are advised to arrange for interpretation services should these be needed.

Press stake-outs

Delegations may also hold an ad hoc press stake-out during the Global Refugee Forum. The press stake-out area will be located either in the press room or at the VVIP entrance from the afternoon of December 13. The area will be Global Refugee Forum-branded.

The stake-out area can be booked by writing to UNHCR at [email protected].

View the venue map for details on room locations within the Palexpo.

VIP Social Media Zone

High-level attendees are invited to showcase their commitment and actions on the Global Compact on Refugees to an extensive global audience by visiting the VIP Social Media Zone.

The VIP Social Media Zone will be located on the second floor of Palexpo from 13-15 December. It is available to Heads of State and Government, Ministers, CEOs, Heads of UN agencies and refugees.

The Social Media Zone features designated spaces to create social media content along with areas dedicated to sport, art, and an AI interactive experience. The Zone will be managed by UNHCR's Social Media Section. It will serve as a hub for world leaders and refugees to collaboratively produce engaging content, focusing on pledges and solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges. For more details on the types of content that can be created, see below.

Content generated within this hub will be featured on UNHCR’s multilingual social media platforms, reaching millions of people around the world, and made available for use by the respective VIPs.

Appointments are highly recommended. Please contact Sharon Grobeisen, [email protected] with your preferred day and time.
