Exhibitions at the Forum

The Global Refugee Forum features a range of stalls, installations and talks attendees can visit in the Exhibition Space of the Palexpo.

A range of artisanal home decor and accessories crafted by refugees will be available for purchase from the MADE51 stall at the Forum.

Speakers’ Corner

Hear from a range of experts on best practices and innovative approaches at the Speakers' Corner. 

A series of short, impactful talks on the key themes of the Global Compact on Refugees will run each day of the Forum (13-15 December) during the lunch break between plenary sessions. Hear from humanitarians, government representatives, UN personnel, academics and refugees as they cover best practices, innovative approaches, and strategies to tackle upcoming challenges.

Welcome House 

Visit the Welcome House to learn more about the history of UNHCR refugee responses.

The Welcome House at the entrance to the Exhibition Space features 'welcome' messages in the six UN languages, along with a timeline of UNHCR's refugee responses over the years, documented by our records and archives department.

Stats and Facts

Explore the Stats and Facts box installation to learn more about statistics on forced displacement through the years.

This exhibit showcases historical data and images along with more recent statistics on forced displacement from UNHCR flagship reports like the 2023 Global Compact on Refugees Indicator Report and the 2023 Global Appeal. Participants can explore the information printed on 24 boxes, of which 12 have opening doors. This exhibit displays both UNHCR and partner content.

Partners' Wall

See how different partners are contributing to the objectives of the Global Compact. 

Aligned with the spirit of the Global Compact on Refugees (GCR), different stakeholders play a crucial role in meeting the four objectives of the GCR. This exhibition features 70+ engaging videos from different stakeholders, showcasing the work partners are doing – with and without UNHCR – in support of the refugees and host communities.

Global Wall of Solidarity

Add your voice to the global call to protect the rights of people forced to flee. 

Visit the Global Wall of Solidarity to read the Hope Away from Home petition and learn more about the three-year global campaign calling for urgent action to protect the rights of people fleeing war, violence and persecution. The wall is a testament to the impact of the indomitable strength of humanity and standing for the safety of all. Participants are encouraged to visit the space and join over a million others in the movement of solidarity by signing the petition.

The Case for Solidarity with Refugees

Count the suitcases in The Case for Solidarity installation.

If you see a pile of suitcases in the Exhibition Space, stop by and take a look. Before you move on, count the cases. Each suitcase represents a million journeys to safety. A million people forced to flee their homes and countries. A million people looking for hope away from home. Participants are invited to stop by and read the messages on every case and understand the need for solidarity and action.

Mirror Wall

Stop by the Mirror Wall to reflect.

In the heart of the Exhibition Space, participants will discover the Mirror Wall section – a space designed for reflection, allowing them to contemplate the stories and information they've absorbed. The mirror's surface bears the inscription 'I am part of the solution,' prompting participants to consider the ways in which they are and can continue to contribute to supporting refugees.

MADE51 Exhibition and Pop-up Shop

Shop beautiful hand-made pieces crafted by refugees and meet the artisans behind the work.

The MADE51 exhibition (located in Halle 3) showcases large-scale installation pieces handmade by refugees around the world. Participants will have the unique opportunity to engage with refugee artisans and MADE51 social enterprise partners at the exhibit. Alongside the exhibition, you can also shop MADE51’s beautiful refugee-made products throughout the event at the MADE51 stall. Alongside ‘best-sellers’ and newly released items, a limited number of customisable products will be available for purchase. These pieces will be customized on-site by refugee artisans. Credit cards only.

21st Century Nansen Passport Photobooth

Take a photo at the Nansen Passport Photobooth while you learn about the importance of travel documents. 

Visit the 21st century Nansen Passport Photobooth (located in the corridor connecting the Plenary with Halle 3) to take a photo as a print or digital memento of your attendance at the Forum while you also learn about refugee travel documents. The display features inspiring quotes from refugees sharing their experiences with travel documents along with real examples of refugee travel documents.
